FOUNDER | DIRECTOR
Gustav Barkhuysen
Gustav is the Owner and Director at GB Law.
Obtaining his Bcom LLB from the University of Stellenbosch, he has more than 15 years practical legal experience in the property sector.
His area of practice covers all aspects of Property Law, including the drafting of property agreements and contracts, general conveyancing, both conventional and sectional title, servitudes, mortgage and notarial bonds, agricultural property agreements, Joint Venture agreements and advice on the legal aspects of property development.
Gustav’s greatest attribute is his availability and personable service to his clients. His problem solving and supportive attitude is what sets him apart from the rest.

Robyn Daniels
Meet Robyn.
She completed her conveyancing paralegal course in 2000 and has been attending to property transfers- and bonds for the last 23 years. She is experienced in developments and has played an active role in the registration of developments in Parklands, Sunset Links and Thesen Islands.
Robyn’s strongest attribute is her innate ability to build trust and confidence with her clients, often through her witty sense of humour.
She is the proud mom of 2 little kids and remains incredibly loyal and devoted to the Firm and her client.

Attorney, Conveyancer, Notary
Marlene Els
Marlene obtained her LLB degree from the North West University, Potchefstroom, and was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court in 2019. She initially gained experience in litigation and family law before opening her own practice, MDP Attorneys. In 2021 she was admitted as a Conveyancer and, with a growing passion for property law, she joined Smuts & Co Inc in 2022 to specialise in conveyancing. Marlene was admitted as a Notary in 2025 and became part of Gustav Barkhuysen Attorneys the same year. Even though she has experience across various fields of law, her main focus is on conveyancing, with particular expertise in property transfers and developments.
Her hometown is in the beautiful Franschhoek and in her free time she and her husband enjoy a good glass of wine, socializing with their friends and outdoor running.

Attorney & Conveyancer
Stefan Goosen
Whilst finishing his law degree in Stellenbosch, Stefan also worked as a real estate agent with the aim of gaining insight into the property sector. After obtaining his LLB, he pursued a Master’s degree focusing on Intellectual Property and Competition Law.
Stefan completed his articles at a large conveyancing firm whereafter he decided to specialise in all matters property-related.
Beyond the office, Stefan can be found chasing waves along the Cape Town coastline, playing tennis or immersing himself in music at his make-shift studio at home.

Public Relations Executive
Liesl Hibbert
As PRO at GB Law, Liesl thrives on connecting with people and making sure every client feels valued and supported.
With a background in real estate and property-market insight, she keeps things clear, calm, and efficient, while bringing plenty of energy, creativity, and just the right amount of feistiness to the mix.
Powered by sunshine and strong coffee she enjoys park runs, spinning, gardening, and is a happy cook in the kitchen. She is also a proud cat mom to three spoiled furry kids.
Liesl likes to bring the same warmth, fun, and positive energy to work as I do to life. Always approachable, professional, and ready to make things happen.

Stacey Fourie
A Bookkeeper with a background in accounts and experience in an accounting firm, but numbers are just part of her story. Stacey loves being the go-to person who’s always happy to help, even when it’s outside of her job description.
When she’s not balancing books, you will find her running after fitness goals at the gym or getting lost in a good read or Netflix binge.
Whether it’s chasing down spreadsheets or finish lines, Stacey likes to keep things friendly, approachable, and full of energy — both at work and in life.

Catherine Robinson
After obtaining her Paralegal Diploma in 2002 she spent the past 23 years specialising in conveyancing, with a particular passion for property transfers.
Along the way, she’s built strong experience in bond registrations and bond cancellations, always bringing a sharp eye for detail, speed, and accuracy to her work.
Outside the office, Catherine is a proud mom to a son and three fur babies, and is happiest when surrounded by family, enjoying nature, tending to her garden, or indulging in sushi.
Known for being helpful and reliable — with a sarcastic, witty sense of humour to match — she believes in keeping things professional, but never boring.

Human Resources Manager
Nicole Sieberhagen
Nicole is a Psychometrist and HR strategist with over 15 years of experience across the wine, hospitality, retail, and logistics industries. She partners with small to medium enterprises to design and implement sustainable workforce strategies, strengthen employee retention, and cultivate high-performing, positive organizational cultures. Nicole applies a people-centered approach, helping businesses grow while ensuring their teams thrive. Outside of her professional life, she is a mother of two, an animal enthusiast, and enjoys running and spending time with her family and friends.

Leanne Love
With a background in fashion design from the Elizabeth Galloway Academy in Stellenbosch, Leanne brings a distinctive creative perspective to her role as Social Media Content Creator. Her transition from the fashion industry to photography and digital media has allowed her to merge artistic vision with strategic content planning. Based in Cape Town, she is responsible for crafting innovative, educational, and engaging content that reflects the firm’s evolving identity in the digital space.
Leanne approaches each project with the energy and resilience she draws from her passion for endurance sports, continually pushing boundaries, both creatively and professionally.

Senior Conveyancing Secretary (Estates Department)
Olivia Pentolfe
Olivia, a seasoned paralegal with extensive litigation and conveyancing experience has joined our team. She has filled roles as both senior paralegal and practice manager, as well as support to dynamic professionals in commercial law, private banking and intellectual property. In most recent years she decided to focus on honing her conveyancing skills and working specifically with deceased estate transfers, playing a vital role in the team in managing the facilitation of all our deceased estates transfers.
With her immense love of the Far-East and all things related, she has practised Traditional Chinese Kungfu for many years, rising to the senior level in her school. She also loves weight training in the gym while dreaming about her next overseas trip. Her free time is spent with her husband and being a dedicated dogmom to her beloved English Bull Terrier, Pablo Escobark.
