FOUNDER | DIRECTOR
Gustav Barkhuysen
Gustav is the Owner and Director at GB Law.
Obtaining his Bcom LLB from the University of Stellenbosch, he has more than 15 years practical legal experience in the property sector.
His area of practice covers all aspects of Property Law, including the drafting of property agreements and contracts, general conveyancing, both conventional and sectional title, servitudes, mortgage and notarial bonds, agricultural property agreements, Joint Venture agreements and advice on the legal aspects of property development.
Gustav’s greatest attribute is his availability and personable service to his clients. His problem solving and supportive attitude is what sets him apart from the rest.

Catherine Conway
Catherine studied and worked in the Financial Management sector for over 10 years before deciding to move into Law, where her true passion lies. She completed her LLB degree through UNISA in 2011, also qualifying as a Conveyancer soon thereafter.
Catherine actively manages all our current transfer files and processes to ensure our clients’ needs and expectations are met throughout. In addition to this she brings a wealth of expertise in the drafting of wills, Antenuptial contracts and Deceased estate administration. Her hands-on approach ensures that each matter runs smoothly and efficiently.
Catherine’s calm, mature and relatable approach safeguards our clients’ confidence and trust through often stressful transactions and times.
ASSOCIATE (Attorney & Conveyancer)
Leandri Weihmann
With an LLB degree with Distinction from the University of the Free State obtained in 2016, Leandri’s expertise is backed by solid education and extensive training. She commenced her articles in Bloemfontein while attending the L.E.A.D training course at the School for Legal Practice. After her admission as an Attorney and subsequently as a Conveyancer, Leandri remained in Bloemfontein and practiced conveyancing.
Leandri relocated to Cape Town and joined Gustav Barkhuysen Attorneys in May 2024 and is based at our Durbanville office.
Her approach blends meticulous attention to detail with a deep understanding of legal regulations, ensuring that every aspect of your property transaction is handled efficiently and effectively.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Leandri enjoys exploring nature through hiking and outdoor activities. She values time spent with family, friends, and her beloved dogs

Charlene Grobler
Meet Charlene.
She boasts with over 20 years’ hands-on experience as a Conveyancing Secretary dealing with Transfers and Bonds. She currently works from our Durbanville Branch and likes to assist her clients in any way she can to make the transfer process as easy and comfortable as possible for everyone.

Robyn Daniels
Meet Robyn.
She completed her conveyancing paralegal course in 2000 and has been attending to property transfers- and bonds for the last 23 years. She is experienced in developments and has played an active role in the registration of developments in Parklands, Sunset Links and Thesen Islands.
Robyn’s strongest attribute is her innate ability to build trust and confidence with her clients, often through her witty sense of humour.
She is the proud mom of 2 little kids and remains incredibly loyal and devoted to the Firm and her client.
OFFICE MANAGER
Simoné Whelan
Coming from a background of 10 years in finance and tax, Simoné decided to try a new avenue and joined our firm as Office Manager. She plans on broadening her scope in the legal realm by completing a Paralegal course and adding to the strong support team that assists our clients in their conveyancing matters.
Simoné is a sausage dog fanatic and has 2 of her own. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking up a storm and discovering new wine farms with her hubby.
